1978年、宮城県名取市生まれ。1999年よりテレビマンユニオンにて、ドキュメンタリーやバラエティ等の番組制作に携わる。2003年に独立。フリーのディレクターとして活動する傍ら、助監督として多くの映画制作に参加し、現場経験を重ねる。

2005年、長編ドキュメンタリー映画『最後の言葉 dear beloved』を監督。1000回を超えるライブ映像と取材を軸に、歌手・川嶋あいの活躍と、その裏にある亡き母への想いを描いた。2009年、川端康成原作のオムニバス映画『掌の小説』第四話「不死」を監督。

2011年の東日本大震災を機に地元へ戻り、母を看取ったのち、2016年に再び上京。以後、テレビドラマの監督を中心に、映画・ドキュメンタリーを横断して映像制作を続けている。

Film director, born in 1978 in Natori, Miyagi, Japan. Began his career at TV MAN UNION in 1999, working on documentary programs, and has worked independently since 2003.

His feature documentary Saigo no Kotoba: dear beloved (2005) was theatrically released. He directed “Immortality,” the fourth segment of the omnibus film based on Yasunari Kawabata’s short stories (2009, Palm-of-the-Hand Stories), selected for the 22nd Tokyo International Film Festival’s Japanese Eyes section. Since 2022 he has directed television dramas for MBS, YTV, KTV and ABC.
